California Youth Conservatory Theatre

Voted San Diego's "Best Theatre Group" on Channel 10's A-List Awards for the last 3 consecutive years, California Youth Conservatory Theatre is a professional-level training theatre for serious young performers. CYC is the only youth theatre company which regularly employs real, professional actors to mentor our students. This side-by-side training with real, working pros makes our students excel in the learning of their craft and makes the quality of our shows rival those of professional theatre companies. CYC has made national news several times, and been on the leading-edge of programming for years. CYC produced the world's first-ever youth theatre productions of Ragtime, RENT and A Few Good Men--plus the San Diego premier of "13." Recently, CYC's Summer 2013 production of Les Miserables (San Diego's first-ever production of the full-score, new Broadway version) was the first youth theatre production to ever win the prestigious Bravo San Diego "Best Musical" award (presented by the San Diego Performing Arts League and the County of San Diego). Hailed by critics and famous actors alike, CYC Theatre's effective training has launched the professional careers of several new professional young actors.
